At a young age, he moved to the United States, where he completed high school and later earned a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Calvin University.  He possesses a deep passion for teaching, serving, and equipping youth—especially as they navigate today’s postmodern culture. In 2023, in response to a clear calling to youth ministry, Sam stepped down from his role as an Athletic Director at an international school to pursue theological training at Regent College. He began serving as an intern with the youth and college ministries at VCAC in 2025. After graduating from Regent in 2026, he joined the English Congregation as Youth Pastor. His vision is to see students deeply rooted in Scripture, growing in their love for the Lord, and faithfully serving one another. Outside of ministry, Sam enjoys basketball, competitive sports, and board games.  He values thoughtful conversation and enjoys engaging in meaningful discussions about faith and life.    Sam lives in Vancouver with his wife, Lydia, and their three-year-old son, Joseph.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][/vc_section]
