Vancouver Chinese Alliance Church (VCAC) COVID-19 Reopen Plan (July 4, 2021)

As we enter step 3 of BC’s COVID-19 restart plan, VCAC will be taking the following steps when we reopen the facilities on July 6, 2021:

Goal:
To create a safe and caring environment for each other, congregants should wear a mask inside the church building and maintain social distancing. This reopening plan will be updated according to the Provincial Health Measures and the needs of VCAC.

Congregants arriving from other countries should quarantine for 14 days.

  1. Entering the church building
    1.1 Wear a mask and practice social distancing.
    1.2 Take a temperature check.
    1.3 Use hand sanitizer.
    1.4 No handshaking or hugging.
    1.5 Stay home if you or any of your direct family members are unwell.

3. All events, including fellowships, small groups, meetings, & worship team practice
    3.1 Pre-registration is required for all events; please sign up at the church office.
    3.2 People attend according to the room booked at the allowed capacity.
    3.3 Wear a mask and practice social distancing.
    3.4 No food allowed inside the church building, except drinks (for personal consumption only)
    3.5  Individually packaged food and drink can be provided for a group to consume outside the church building. No shared food or drinks (such as in a potluck).

4. Pre-registration procedure for all events  
    4.1 Register with the event organizer.
    4.2 The event organizer should keep records of attendance and be prepared to provide them upon request by the office.

   5.2 Booking can be done through the office 7 days before the meeting, on a first come, first served basis.

6. Sunday Worship
    6a Congregation
      6a.1 Call the office or register online on a first come first served basis.  The Sanctuary can seat around 100 people.
      6a.2 Information required from attendees: name, telephone number.             6a.3 No congregational singing allowed.
      6a.4 Donations can be dropped off in the donation box at the main entrance of the Sanctuary.
      6a.5 Communion service: the congregation may pick up communion package at the Sanctuary main entrance, or just join the officiating pastor.   

    6.b Worship team   
            All members should wear a mask at all time.

    6.c  Speaker, Chairman and people who lead in worship:   
           Should wear a mask at all time.

7. Others 
     7.1 Kitchen will be closed.
     7.2 The water dispenser will not be available.
     7.3 Nursery will be closed.
     7.4 Library will be closed.
     7.5 Only 1 person is allowed in the copier room at any one time.

8. Gathering at places outside of VCAC Building Measures (parks etc.)
     8.1 Fellowship and Small group should inform Edmund Lee 10 days before the meeting.
            Please provide him with the gathering location, date, time and number of people.
    8.2 For the sharing of food and drinks (such as potluck) please follow    policies 3.5.
